Q. How long do sessions last? Each session will last up to 50 minutes and will typically take place at the same time and day each week.
Q. Can I claim a Medicare rebate on my sessions? Yes, you can claim a Medicare rebate for both face-to-face and telehealth sessions with a valid mental health care plan from your GP, which you must bring with you to your first appointment.
Q. How do I get a mental health care plan? To get a mental health care plan you should make an appointment with your registered GP.
Q. How much is the Medicare rebate? The Medicare rebate for a Clinical Psychologist is $141.85 meaning you will pay the remaining gap fee of $98.15 per session.
Q. Can I use my own private health insurance? Yes, however please refer to your individual private health insurer for their rebate information.
Q. Can I book an appointment online? Unfortunately you are unable to book an appointment directly online as a brief initial screening process is required to ensure I am the most appropriate service for you or your child. Please click the 'Get in Touch' icon to send an email or phone 0401404490.
Q. Will I be charged if I do not attend my appointment? To respect the therapeutic process and waiting list there is a 24 hour cancellation policy in place, to cancel or rearrange your appointment it is kindly requested that you contact the service by 12pm at least one business day prior, otherwise the full session fee may apply. For Monday appointments clients must cancel by 12pm on the Friday prior to their appointment.
Q. What COVID-19 Arrangements do you have in place? I have received five doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine (2 initial doses + 3 booster doses). I am able to offer both face to face and telehealth (Zoom) sessions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. All appropriate cleaning and contact tracing practices are in place at the practice.
Q. Is there any parking on site? The clinic is located on the corner of Brighton Road and Coleridge Street in Elwood. Unfortunately there is no dedicated parking on site, however there is plenty of off street parking on the roads surrounding the practice; is also easily accessible via public transport. On street parking on Coleridge Street has no parking restrictions. The streets surrounding the practice have varying parking availabilities ranging from unrestricted all day to 1 or 2 hour restrictions.
Public Transport
The practice is easy to get to by train. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from Ripponlea or Elsternwick Train station, which is on the Sandringham Train line.
The No. 67 Tram (Melbourne University to Carnegie) goes past the practice on Brighton Road. Dr Rob Psychology is located at tram stop number 41.
